Sameer Dada (he/him) is a second year MA student at NYU’s International Relations department. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. At NYU, his areas of research include political economy, housing, diplomacy, and the Asia-Pacific. He has interned with the Canadian Federal Government in both Immigration and Global Affairs, and has extensive outreach and event coordination experience through his NGO and volunteering work. Sameer is currently interning at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and in his spare time enjoys working out, rock-climbing, and attending concerts and raves.

Maud Amalie Rasmussen (she/her) is a second-year MA student in International Relations at NYU with a bachelor's degree in African Studies and Swahili Culture from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Her research interests include postcolonial relations, transitional justice processes, and state interests in archival science.
Outside academia, she has professional experience in education, event planning, fundraising, and orchestrating activism for organizations such as Amnesty International. Her dedication extends to human rights advocacy, particularly regarding affirmative consent law and advocating improved rights for disabled people. In her free time, Maud enjoys attending art and music events and cooking for loved ones and finds delight in the simple joy of walking and people-watching. |
Madisson EscobarVP Of ResourcesMadisson Escobar (she/her) is a first-year MA student in NYU'S International Relations department, with a concentration in International Law. In 2023, she completed a dual bachelor's program at Appalachian State University in North Carolina, majoring in Political Science with a concentration on International and Comparative Politics, as well as Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, Deviance, and Law. At NYU, her research interests include international human rights, genocidal studies, international law and organizations, and the Latin America region, specifically Central America.
Outside academia, she has experience interning at a court house and working in the Women's Center at ASU. She is passionate about human rights advocacy, women's rights, and immigrant rights. In her spare time, Madisson enjoys attending concerts, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Stark. |
Jennifer Amparo BallestrosVP of Alumni RelationsJennifer Amparo Ballesteros (she/her) is a second-year MA student in NYU’s International Relations department, with a concentration in Latin America and Caribbean Studies. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2020, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Diplomacy. In 2022, she earned a master's degree from James Madison University in Florence Italy in European Union Policy Studies. She is originally from Bayamon, Puerto Rico. At NYU, her research interests include U.S. Foreign Policy towards Latin America and the Caribbean, revolutions in Latin America, and decolonization. She has experience working at NGOs that focus on migration patterns and immigration policies.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, learning new languages, going to concerts, and visiting museums. |
Alexa AdjudanporVP ExternalAlexa Adjudanpor (she/her) is a first year MA student at NYU’s International Relations department, with a concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2023, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a concentration in Crime and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Spanish Language and Literature. At NYU, her research interests include gender inequality, international human rights, diplomacy and international institutions, and the Latin American region.
Outside of academia, she interned for a Vermont State Representative serving on the House Health Care Committee and member of the Social Equity Caucus and Women’s Caucus. She also worked for a criminal defense attorney in Vermont. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys baking, traveling, and going out with friends and trying new cuisines in NYC. |
